The travels I have taken and the experiences that resulted.

Light. The beginning of a new day. The endless possibilities that may cast upon tomorrow. What would we do without light? Businesses would close at sunset, cars would not be on the road, and lets face it NYC or Vegas just wouldn't be the same. Many people would see this resource/energy in a positive light.

Not me. Thursday at 4:00 means off to the airport and fingers crossed that I will make my 5:30 flight. I didn't make the last one, and I only wonder about the flights to come. You see it was out of my control. Surrounded by traffic and inching I could only sit and wait as my fate unfolded. Many may think why don't you leave early. Unfortunately, that is not a possibility for me.

There I am in a sea of traffic. Where we all dance to beat of a gas and brake pedal in a popular arrangement called the Stop N Go. In the rental car dujour I realize my enemy is light. There's the clock shining with it's LEDs, telling me time is fleeting. Speedometer casting its green haze of a steady 0 mph. Brake lights lit up like Christmas surround me. Traffic signs appear every so often and like a fortune teller tell my fate that I will be late. Traffic lights will appear at some point when I get closer to the airport, surrounded by taxis seeking fare riding passengers with their sign lit up. TV screens display gates and times directing passengers where to go. For me they tell me that my flight has left and I will not be boarding. All is not lost. After all when I do get on a flight I'll have control of my light and turn it off to grab few hours of sleep.

So I guess I don't have to ask you how well you're adjusting to city life? ( : Take heart.
